Meet Ms. Bearden
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education (BSED). After collage I went to Costa Rica, where I lived with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. While in Costa Rica I taught English and Art. When I returned to Atlanta I worked at the Center for Puppetry Arts, were I taught for four years.
This year will be my third year teaching art at Hapeville Elementary.
Art is and has always been a very important part of my life. When I was in school most subjects were difficult for me to grasp. Art has always made sense to me and through art other subjects began to make sense. I have always used art to help excel in other subjects such as math, reading, science, social studies, etc.
I have been an artist since I was in pre-school.
For me, art is a language that transcends all subjects, cultures and barriers. It is my goal for my students to learn, appreciate and understand the language of art.
