Volunteering with PTA counts towards your 10 volunteer hours required by our charter. There are many ways to get involved. Here are just a few:

Administrative tasks
(copying, stuffing and distributing folders, etc.)

Hospitality
(baking and/or providing food for school events)

Reflections Program
(organize student entries for Fine Arts contest)

Book Fair
(assist with sale of books during the school day)

Newsletter
(help compile PTA information
3x a year)

Boxtops/Rebate Programs 
(collecting and counting Box Tops)

Fundraiser
(collecting, sorting and
distributing forms and products)

Hearing and Vision screenings
(administering screenings at school)

Business Partners
(identify local businesses to partner with the PTA)

Spirit Wear
(sell, order, and distribute
shirts)

Decorations
(inflate balloons, decorate cafeteria for events)

It's a blog.  it's your friend. it's easy. and it wont bite. subscribe and see.

The PTA has created a fabulous BLOG to keep everyone updated automatically to what is going on... but maybe you haven't subscribed yet.  While you were home raising babies and what not, things like blogs and podcasts and other scary sounding things started appearing in the world, and now the PTA is blogging!  Well, it doesn't get any more mainstream than that, so you might as well jump in with both feet.  Let's make this easy.  A Blog is just a web page. The magic comes in the fact that you can subscribe and the blog comes to youautomatically! Let's do this thing!

Above is the address to the PTA Blog.  Your PTA has removed all the scariness and made this the most simple thing in the world. Go to the address, or just right click on the link above.  When you get there, just click on the right side of the pta blog page where you see the message above. Do what it sasys and you will get an e-mail to confirm that you are you and that is pretty much all there is to it.  It takes about 2 min. to register for the updates and then BAM the PTA news comes to your in box.

Next thing you know, you are going to be walking around talking about how your latest RSS feed is keeping you in the know with the PTA yo, and your kids will be asking you for tech tips!  ...and you'll have your local PTA to thank.
