Dunwoody Springs Charter Elementary School is Georgia's first designated professional development focus School.
In partnership with Georgia State University , Dunwoody Springs is a laboratory school for developing and implementing best practices for teaching techniques which are shared with schools throughout the state. Over 850 DSCS students in grades Pre-K through five benefit from the fact that our school is housed in a state of the art facility, is staffed with a highly skilled teaching force, and is the model for teacher training and development throughout the state.
Our Charter allows us to provide a unique experience for students. All Students at Dunwoody Springs are taught using gifted strategies and our teachers are highly trained in the effective use of gifted strategies. Music and art instruction are used to bring students to high levels of achievement in our Enhanced Language Arts Classroom. Also, our transition classroom allows new students a smooth transition. Since implementing our charter in 2005, test scores and student achievement have increased dramatically. Read our charter to learn more.
