"I believe that one of the most significant factors that contribute to student success in learning and a positive school culture is the relationship that is built between student and teacher; as well as between the school and the home."

Dear Parents and Children:

I am very excited to have the opportunity to become a part of the Creek View family. I am impressed by the tradition of excellent teaching and learning that has been cultivated since the doors of Creek View opened. The outstanding work you do is consistently reflected in your academic scores, superior performing arts programs, the innovative uses of technology within classrooms, your strong relationships with business and community organizations, the cohesive relationship between the school and the PTA; these are just a few of the indicators of a thriving and successful school!
I am a Georgia native and grew up in the metro Atlanta area attending schools in Cobb, Gwinnett and Hall counties. I was raised in a family with six kids (five boys and one girl) and I have a twin brother. I attended college in Georgia and Tennessee for my undergraduate studies with majors in Psychology and Education. Returning home, I continued my education at Georgia State and received a Masters degree in professional counseling and school counseling, while teaching fifth grade. After completing my graduate work, I had the opportunity to join Fulton County Schools as a middle school counselor at Taylor Road where I have spent the past ten years; five years as a counselor and five years as an assistant principal.
I believe my role as principal and the role of administration, front office staff and every adult in the building is to support the teaching and learning that is going on in the classroom; to support the establishment of positive and healthy relationships between teachers and students that foster learning for all at the highest levels; to facilitate the development of collaborative relationships between teachers and parents as well as between the school and the community.
I look forward to meeting with each of you individually and in small groups so we may get to know one another and share our passion for helping all students reach their highest levels of learning.I am thrilled to be joining this community of learners and I look forward to the relationships we will build, the successes that we will celebrate, the challenges we will face, learn from and conquer; but most of all, the journey we have ahead of us.
Warmest regards,

Matt Rogers
